Default New car for a Grand Daughter

I delivered a 2002 Ecotec powered Oldsmobile Alero to my soon to be 16 year old Grand Daughter this weekend. It is as much a present for her as it is for my daughter. My Grand Daughter has such a busy schedule and now she can help haul her younger brothers around. She is a straight A student and Student Body Treasurer this year. She is very involved in her church and is taking advanced placement courses in school. I have four grown daughters and 15 grand children so this may be setting quite a precedent. All my girls drove well maintained used cars that they had until after they were married. I towed the car 300+ miles behind the motorhome one way on a borrowed car dolly. We start back home in the morning with a stop at Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River and a stop at Multnomah Falls near Portland, Oregon.
Cheers to all
Andy

Nice gift to a nice young woman. You have taught them all the lesson that rather simple maintenance tasks are usually the difference between the life n death of a car.
Your granddaughter receiving the car will understand in about 5 years how happy she was to have that wisdom instilled by Grandpa to Mom.

Good for you papa. I intend to similar with my grand daughters when they come of age. I'm giving my '00 SL2 to my son for his birthday this Monday. His family could use an economical grocery-go-getter.
I'm going to be needing a Saturn retrieval tow bar. Got any recommendations? PAX

I have a Roadmaster setup to flat tow my car. The car had been towed before I purchased it. I had to purchase the missing inserts from Roadmaster in Vancouver, WA. I purchased a used Stowmaster 5000 bar found on Craigslist.
I borrowed a car dolly to deliver the Alero to Eastern Washington.
