"How can you use the smart phone as a hot spot? "
Samsung Galaxy SIII
It's built into the phone or theres an app for that.
You turn the app on when you need it. Off when your done.

Yea theres an app for that. unfortunately its not the fastest way to connect to the internet, but it works haha. My uncle had a separate hotspot device (cause he didnt have the smartphone at the time) and it worked pretty well - as long as your somewhere that actually supports 3 or 4g

I broke down again............returned the Galaxy SIII and got the much smaller Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II. This does everything the SIII does only smaller and it was a FREE
upgrade. The camera is 5mp not 8mp like the SIII but it sure don't matter to me cause as I sit here I have six cameras on the shelf in front of me a another eight behind me. I'm in no need of a little 5 or 8 mp camera.

Thats one of the things I like about smartphones nowadays, My normal camera is an EOS 60D, which is way too big to lug around everywhere sometimes. My phone takes photos which are fairly decent, for a 2 year old 8 MP phone. Cant wait to get my new phone, Im gonna be looking at the cameras most really cause I would like to have something I can take great photos with incase of a situation without my EOS
These are examples from my instagram ( http://instagram.com/thatkidwiththesaturn ) Considering its an old, beat up, hacked motorola droid X2, i consider these ok

To be perfectly blunt, being disabled lead to being unemployed in 1999 and I had to decide where I was going to spend money and why. And in my world the ability for a phone to send and receive phone calls + any other function it may or may not have vs the need to pay for the function of taking pictures and paying for the broad band service it takes to do something with them at $15.00 a month?
That dog don't hunt
If it were not for the need of emergency service, I would not even have one. And what it does past hearing it ring and saying basically hello, who the hell are you? All the other bells and whistles are meaningless. I have a camera, my phone can be stupid.
