Hi I bought my 2004 ION 3 Coupe new and it has been flawless until recent but my recent problem was big,I had to rebuild the motor with 125,000 miles but the rest of the car is great so I did it and soon it will be on the road again. I bought this to replace my 69 Dodge Dart which had a 440 motor so what a stepdown on power but this Saturn is OK

 

Replace a 69 Dart? You mean daily drive to keep the Dart as a summer only show car I hope......

 

I'm sorry man, but being a Mopar man myself, you CAN NOT replace a 69 Dart with a 440 with a Saturn. You can have the Saturn for the economy, but you can't replace that Dart. I'd love to hear more about the Dart. What trans, rear end ratio, Sure-Grip? Etc., etc.

 

I'm not sorry.
I am a GM guy all the way.
But replace a 69 Dart with a Saturn? I would NEVER.

That Dart was my daily driver for 27 years and had close to 300k miles and got 15-20 mpg with the 2.91 gear and with the 3.91 gears made many drag strip runs with a rather repeatable 12.6 time at 127 mph with the street tires so I imagine that would have been a lower 10 with slicks cause my 60 foot time was 3.5 seconds. The front torsion bar braces were weakening so I sold it for $900 and I kept the drivetrain. Gotta grow up sometime so I got this Saturn and I like it for what it is. Anyway I bought a 1980 Mercury Capri which has a 351 stroker motor and will go high 9's in a 1/4 mile and this one has 46k miles and has never seen a Michigan winter and this is my fun car and when that won't do I take my son's AC Cobra kit car or I could talk to my other son kigglyracing.com and see about his 7 sec Plymouth

 

Ohhhhh, a 7 second Plymouth. I love the sound of that! Gotta check that out! Man, that Laser is one bad lil 2.6! I had an 84 Chrysler Laser XE with the 2.2 Turbo I when they first hit the market. I thought IT was fast. LOL

 

that Laser has the Mitsubishi engine and he is running about 45 inches boost,he has a video on his website kigglyracing.com
