Heater cores are a pain in the azz......that is all.

I have also an issue with the engine getting hot when sitting in traffic, unfortunately I live in an area with traffic. The mechanic said that I have a "sticky" thermostat.
When the engine temperature starts to rise, I turn on the heat on high and turn the fan on second or third speed and that will take the heat off the engine. Although that means the heat is being sent into the vehicle. A solution until thermostat is replaced.
