New guy intro
Hi everyone,
I've been lurking around for the last couple weeks and have liked what I've read so I decided to join.
I've had 5 Saturns under my maintenance over the last 7 years.
Currently I am down to a couple 2000 SL1s
The one I'm working on has been sitting around in my side yard for a couple years but now with high gas prices I am dusting off the mothballs and getting this thing on the road.
My wife got this 2000 SL1 with 35,000 miles on it before we were married. I drove it for 2 years while commuting 800 miles a week.
My best fuel economy for a tank of gas was 40 mpg. I've averaged about 32 all around driving.
Now the mileage has plateaued at 170,000. For the 135,000 miles we've driven it, besides brakes, rotors, fluid changes, etc. we've spent only $25 for an idler pulley.
So needless to say it's been a great car.
Now that it's been sitting I'm having some troubles getting it going. I'll be posting some questions in the SL1 area.
I've repaired or replaced just about every part on a typical American car. My strength is mechanical problem solving and my weakness is electrical systems.
I look forward to working with all of you.
