Default odometer gear

I have not looked to see what the configuration was to be honest. It worked intermittently for quite a while. Work o.k., and then not work at all and seemed to get fussy when I reset the trip odometer. It did seem to be temperature dependent though. One day it just quit and never restarted. I assumed (bad word) that because everything else on the display(s) were electronic driven that the odometer was too and the working mechanism was built into the panel.
I guess I really should take a look at how it is supposed to work rather than just assume. My Bad! Thanks for the hint, time to pull the manual out again.
Then again I am a bit paranoid about dealing with the plastic parts. So many of them are broken due to the heat soak the car has lived in. I also had two complete dashboards turn into plastic scraps while trying to transport them from one car to another for one of my restoration projects. You have a tendancy to get that way when it happens too often.
On the Saturn I went a bit nuts having the head liner re-done which damaged the dome lights and the Sunroof Control panel/interior lights module. Played bloodyblue heck trying to find one that actually could be dissassembled with out breaking everything. (locally anyways)
For a lot of plastic interior pieces I have made it a habit now for a while to get some one in Northern U.S. or Canada to strip out interior plastic pieces and ship them to me.
