I have Goldy a 99 SW2, Red my daughters 99 SW2 and Whitey my other daughters 2000 SW2
#31
just saw this......BCM was root cause (I think but cannot confirm) of my problems on Whitey, original no RKE AB lite, out BCM #2 w/RKE got the RKE to work could not put out AB lite, dealer spent 3 hrs. second time and unable to put out AB lite, so I drove it out to the hangar and out of frustration because I really wanted my daughter to have a RKE! I thought about the risk of a "hot swap". So I reset the security and had it running on BCM #1 and hot swapped to BCM #2 as I unplugged the right plug on came the security lamp, then the middle plug and the 3rd the AB lite came on, then back to #1 whilst holding my breath! All the lites went back off.
Then after returning my new FOBs I had a thought.........I had 1 more possibility I did not try, What if I had tried leaving the left/center plugs on BCM 1 and the right plug in BCM 2, I don't know if BCM2 would have required power to operate the RKE or not? Then I even thought I could apply power to the BCM but I'll probably never try that once she starts driving it. I will begin a casual
search for the same P/N BCM WITH FOBS!
