This safe to use?
While my '96 SW2 isn't bad on oil it IS a Saturn so it's a given that it's going to go through SOME oil. For that reason, I've always made sure I had a couple of extra quarts handy. The other day, after buying a couple of spare quarts of 5W-30 and placing them in a carrying case behind the drivers' seat I noticed an unopened quart of HD-30 behind the seat. I don't know where it came from as I've always bought 5w-30. The only thing I can think of is that I bought it, in error, some months ago.
I didn't know if it would be harmful to use it at some point in the future so I put in on a shelf in my garage. I didn't want to mistakenly use it, at some point.
Edit: Maybe I ought to have been more clear. What I was trying to determine is if using this would be harmful.

Thanks for the response.
You're correct in that I don't have much use for a lawnmower down here in southern Arizona ... desert landscaping and all lol.
My SW2 is actually pretty easy on oil, especially driving around town. I've just always been in the habit of carrying spare oil because of the old adage "Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" lol
I guess I'll just leave the HD-30 on the garage shelf just to be safe.
