Default Performance Chips

Ok so im talking with some of the guys on the Saturn Sc1/Sc2 facebook page and in the conversation a guy says he installed a "Volo VP12 OBD-II Performance Chip" in his 2001 SC1 and claims its made a significant difference in power. I went ahead and google searched it and its price ranged from $80-$100 for this thing and they make it for many different car makes/models. Also in my search i read some reviews on other car forums and i havent found a negative comment yet. I know in the past that ive read that ANY chip for a saturn is considered a scam or waste of money, so i wanted your guys thought/opinions.

Any chip for any car is pretty much a waste of money, man. I've never known anyone that has purchased one of those things that said it did anything for their car or truck. All it did was lighten their wallets. I'd want proof before I'd ever consider one of them, and so far, nobody has ever provided any. It's your hard earned cash, so do whatever you feel is right.

@ rube, My brothers truck is chipped, it does make a decent bit more power, but his B3000 has a tunable computer.
The S-series computers are non tunable and the fuel mapping cant be changed unless you go to a piggy back or standalone system, so it will not work

This person just doesent know how his car drives, or he did alot of upgrades at once, and thinks its the chip. or he could be talking out his ***, who knows hahahaha

The best way to "tune" a Volvo is to drop a Paul Newman endorsed 302 Ford conversion kit into it! LMAO
