Ion Control Arm Differences

Default Ion Control Arm Differences

I have 2-2003 and 1-2006 Saturn ION IIs. They all have almost 200,000Km and I need to replace most of the front control arm bushings. I bought one control arm for the 2006 thinking I could do a good reconditioning and round robin them but now have found out the the 2003 and 2006 control arms are different. Does anyone off hand know what the difference is? Could I put say LH and RH 2006 control arms on a 2003?

Well you bought the parts and have them in your hands you tell us.

saturn parts dept can certainly direct you on what fits what and what don't fit what

Yes if I had them both I could figure it out but I only purchased the 2006 control arm per the original post and was trying to avoid spending $220 just to see the difference.
I will visit the dealer parts dept to see if they can help. In the past they haven't been really good at answering technical question.

sorry misread -- but you do know they're different so if you wanna replace them you gotta buy them sooner or later, no?

Parts dep should have a book with pics (no sarcasm for once)

Yes they have generic GM pictures with part numbers. I'm sure the parts guy is not going to know what the changed are so might be a good idea to see if they have both items in stock so you can look them over. Sound like a plan?
