Hey guys,

can someone tell me how easy/hard it is or basically how to replace an oil pan on 1 97 sc1. I have a replacement pan, as well as a lift. I have an idea as well as the chiltons manual, just wondering if I have to loosen the motor mounts, etc or can i just get to it by removing the wheel splash guard and the reinforcement bracket and exhaust..

Thanks

Have to drop exhaust down pipe. let it hang. take off pass tire and removed wheel well. take off belt. undo bottom motor mount leave top on to hold engine. remove crank pulley. while your they replace crank seal. easy and cheap. then it's 8 mm all around pan whole job should take 1 hour if its your first time. torque all 8 mm bolts to 89 inch pounds. or hand tight with 1/4 ratchet.

Its not necessary to remove the bottom mount. You do need to remove the serpentine belt, crank pulley, exhaust down pipe, and powertrain stiffening bracket. No reason to remove any of the engine or transmission mounts.
