Hey Guys,

Hopefully someone can help. I have a 97 SC1 coupe and a stripped oil pan plug(The thread not the head). The problem is that the plug is still screwed in and just turns freely in either direction. I am wondering if the pan is threaded or if it has a nut tick welded to the inside wall of the pan and maybe I broke the welds free and thats why I cant back the nut out. My other thought was to put a little pressure on the plug while I am turning it to help catch the threads, but again I dont know if that would matter. The ultimate solution is to replace the pan, but to be honest I dont feel like doing that. Any help/advice is definetly appreciated...

Theres a nut welded to the inside of the pan. Sounds like it broke free. Time for a new pan.

I've got five of them sitting in my garage:
