Default electrical.. daytime running lights

problem began in my 2001 L200 as bright lights coming on whenever the turn signal was active. now, it includes the daytime running lights turning themselves on when the car is off.

As far as I know, there's only two places where these different circuits interact --> in the Body Control Module (BCM), or in the headlamp/turn signal switch.

Personally, I'd suspect that the switch is beginning to come apart internally, and I would replace it ... course, that's just me talking

great, the switch is the cheaper of the two (the module is unique to the 2001 saturn... so no crossover) how difficult is it to take the covers off the steering column? most switch replacements are plug out plug in... it is accessing the plugh i am concerned with.thanks so much for your help so far.

Removing the Steering Column Covers ---

NOTE: Always disarm the airbag system before working in the vicinity of any airbag system components to avoid the possibility of accidental deployment of the airbag.

(1) On the tilt steering column, move the column to the lowest position.

(2) Remove the screws, then separate the halves and remove the upper and lower steering column covers ......

Only the sensor switches are mechanical -- the remaining portion of the system is electrical in nature
