My driver's side wiper has become dislocated, for lack of a better description. It wipes in an erratic path, especially wiping right off the edge of the windshield at high speeds. The passenger blade is fine. I know this isn't a motor problem or a problem with that rod that operates both wipers since the passenger side wipes perfectly well and on track. It's not electrical either, again, because the passenger wiper wipes just as it's supposed to.

Does anyone have any ideas about what's wrong with the driver's wiper? Is something in the arm itself broken? Is there maybe a screw loose where the arm connects to the moving rod? When the wipers are turned off, the passenger wiper locks into place and you can't move it, but the driver's wiper can be moved back up and down the windshield. Other than that, however, the arm itself doesn't wiggle or give any other indication that it is not properly attached to the car. It's like it's not locked into the moving assembly properly.

I doubt this is something I can fix myself, but I always like to know what's wrong with my car before I take it somewhere and I like to have an idea of how much it will cost to fix it.

Thanks.

If it is an S car then your wiper arm is no good...If the other cars then probably the linkage or the whole wiper asm.
