2000 sl2 no low end power

These sensor issues can be tuff to diagnose and can drive you nuts. I bought an IROC Z28 one time. Loved the car. It had about 100,000 miles on it with a new engine at 40,000. It ran hot and knocked. Drove me crazy. Finally decided to figure out why only one of the two fans actually worked. One ran directly from heat sensor, second was controlled by engine manegement computor.
Found that knock sensor and engine heat sensor used the same plug. Cross wired. When the engine was installed the mechanic crosswired them. How do I know. The wiring harness was broken open. They got one plugged in wrong the second would not fit due to wire harness. So they opened it up rather than trying to figure out what was wrong.
Swapped plugs, engine quit knocking, engine ran cool
duh!
The previous owner drove it 60,000 miles that way.
