I wish I had your problem, tires and rims will put a dent in your wallet.

I have the same car. (02 SL2 w/Manual)

Start with Intake/Throttle Body/Exhaust (Custom)/Header

I agree with 'stevestar99' too. Get some tires and rims. Go for springs too though. It will help with cornering and traction a lot.

By going with custom exhaust, you'll save about $300. Money to put into other parts.

I put all my money into the engine. Who cares what the car looks like when all they see is the back of it? Besides, adding appearance accessories just adds weight.

would it be worth it to trick out a 96' auto transmission?

guy099 ->

Is it SOHC or DOHC? If it's a SOHC your best bet is to swap out engines to a DOHC and go from there.

Yes.............all SL2's are twin cams, and why not trick out an auto trans car. A nice drop sets is apart and makes for fun driving. Add a set of 17's, tint the glass paint the mirrors and rocker cover. Throttlebody, Intake. Strut tower brace. Add some clear side markers. This is my wifes 2001 10th AnniversarySL2.

Ya, sorry.... Dumb question. I knew that.

Why not trick out the auto? I agree. Some people just like the autos better than the standards.

Hey and having an auto trans car may have been the only thing one could get their hands on when buying. My wifes car only came with an auto trans. You could not order the 10th anniversary with a manual. When I relized that I could not order a 2001 SW2 any longer I bought the best SW I could find. It had an auto. Now when I got the Bright Red SL2 I got the five speed because I could and thats what I wanted. My wife just got herself a 06 AWD V/6 VUE comes auto only. Nice rig, but I like my 01 5speed SL2 better. Maybe I'm just crazy. I'll be painting all of the black around the bottom of the VUE. I'll paint the rear hatch handle, and paint some mudflaps for it. That should change the look a bit.Edited by: sw2cam

Where is a good place online to pickup Saturn aftermarket parts like intakes, springs, shocks, camber kits, headers, etc.? I have a 99 SL2.
