I have an old dashboard of a 2007 Saturn Vue FWD (3.5L, V6) and I'm trying to make it work (because I wanna start controlling it with a Arduino Nano) I need (or maybe not) the original wiring harness from the Vue, but all I found is the wiring harness from the hybrid version. Is there any place in Canada that sells these kind of wiring harness for the instrument cluster? If it's not possible to own or find, I'll try to get an idea to make it work with maybe some jumper wires or alligator clips.

Do you have enough experience to trace the circuits on the board?

The original wiring harness, if you had it and cut it off right at the dash, That's still not going to help you differentiate which pins go to which circuit on the cluster. If you can find schematic of the cluster then you'll know which wires lead to where by color of the wire on the snipped end of the harness as that wiring should be documented somewhere just as the rest of the acquiring harness connections or documented in the schematics for the vehicle. Damn long sentence but grammatically correct I believe

In theory, yes. But we don't know if it's available as connector only or if it is integral to the entire wiring harness itself. The easiest way to determine which way it is is to visit a Chevy dealer with the specifics of your vehicle and show him which connector you are looking for. He can go through the GM wiring diagrams and figure out whether that connector can be ordered as a separate part, as the entire wiring harness will be cost prohibitive.

Your other option is to find out what type of connector goes on there and essentially make your own from things you buy at a place like Newark electronics and other similar component manufacturers. The plastic connector style is a specific design that is made by a specific company or companies. You can simply identify the connector, buy some wire, and literally punch each connector terminal through each wire, then close the connector body and there you have it. Much cleaner than alligator clips which would need to be isolated from each other.

Ok, I might stick with the jumper wires because it will be less expensive (and I think I can make a copy of the connector by using a breadboard). But I will still t​​​​hank you for the help. Also why is the gray cluster more expensive then the normal one?

 

Supply and demand. The same reason most driver side interior parts are more than the identical passenger side parts in the front

 

while im looking into the wiring diagram I realized that. I don’t know which pin on the cluster makes the speed gage show the speed. So do you have information about which pin makes the speed gage work including the Warning/Indicator lights.
(I have realized what are the pins. I went in gm.saturn.team to know)
