Default Vue Serp belt

Hi, I’m new to this site, not sure exactly how this works. I have a question about my 2007 Vue, 6 cylinder. My serpentine belt shredded a while back, I just replaced it, drove about 20 miles, and it shredded again. Would this be a tensioner problem or something else. Also, what is the difference between a red line belt and a green line belt? Thanks

Could be tensioner, idler pulley, wrong belt etc

Does it squeal?

With the belt off and the engine off, spin each of the pulleys by hand. They should move freely.

Sometimes the bearings will seize on for example a power steering pump or an AC compressor.clutch.

Or the bearings will wear out on the idler pulley or tensioner.

Also check to see if there is excessive lateral play on any of the pulleys.

Other things can be wrong but let's start simple

Ok thanks for info, I’ll be checking ac compressor tomorrow, water pump, alternator are Goodall grooved pulleys are in line. Did have issue with ac a while back. I’m leaning towards that or tensioner. Also, no squel. Just shredded with out warning. Thank you
