Default 2008 Vue XE 2.4 suddenly wont start (See pic)

1.Can someone tell me where the ECM and PCM are located in a 2008 Vue XE 2.4?
2.Can someone tell me how to remove the electrical connectors from the ECM and PCM?
3.I feel the ground wire could be an issue is it easy to replace?
4. how many ground connections are there and are they easy to get too?
5.Can a buy a new PCM\ECM harness? Are they available?
Before it decided not to start it was in limp mode and my transmission was shifting rough.
Lots of stupid questions I know. I have been on You tube and Google and its shocking how little info is available for these things. Towing this thing to a mechanic and paying him is just not in my budget at this time.

Oopa.
Slipped through the cracks and the OP did not follow up. But my fault ultimately.

Is your situation EXACTLY the same? If not please start a new thread.
If it is pls give a brief history for your situation.
U1000 of the top of my head is a communications code.
If the vehicle was in limp mode before this, I'm quite surprised there are no other codes directly related to that.
Unless something was not communicating with the ECM any more.

Bot we don't know what type of no-start condition this is.
Key -- Click
Cranks wont fire
Cranks fires but won't start
Cranks fires starts for 2 seconds then dies (some refer to this as not starting (?)

We learn to never go strictly off the definition of an OBDII code. It's a general statement that usually is helpful but for different vehicles often implies different things based on known historical behavior.
