Default 2004 Vue V6 AWD Back Brake issue

Hi there. I recently just switched my summer tires to winter tires. A day later I lost a tire. I lost all brake fluid and when I put the tire back on I had to tighten the spring to get the drum back on and also the rubber o ring (i think it was) was where i leaked all the fluid from. Everything went back on and I refilled the brake fluid. Its been a few days now and no more leakage at all but my brakes are very very soft. Almost not there. When i initially push the brakes it feels like they are going to work and then just slowly push all the way to the mat. I am hoping this is just air in the lines and nothing more serious. The vehicle drives great, no shaking or any weird noises. Just the brakes are very very soft.

Hoping this is a simple issue. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

You need to take it in to the shop that works on your car and have that brake repaired properly. Did the wheel come off because the lug nuts were not properly installed?

Yes, I had tightened the lug nuts but the tire must have set in and that's what caused the tire to fall off. All 5 came clean off like they were not even on in the first place. It is weird because I have never had this happen in all the years of changing my own tires. I get why it happened now.

Sounds like you have a leak or a rusted line somewhere.
