Default Where can I find good used ENGINE for SL1 ?

Hello Saturnfans.
Can anyone suggest where I can find a good used engine for 2000 Saturn SL1 ?

I ordered one from "TAGORE AutoParts". They sent me 260 LB of scrap: valve cover was off, rocker arm and valve springs were missing, oil pan was smashed etc. Now I'm struggling to get a refund from these scams.

Can anuone suggect a trusted place to order a used engine ?

Did they sell it as complete or just the block and lower end?

Try car-part.com. I entered 60607 as a zip and on the first page many lower mile engines come up. This is a nationwide wrecking yard site that the yards pay to advertise their inventory. I have had very good success with locating the parts I need.

Thank you very much 02 LW300.

I was able to find lots of engines on that website. Problem is: how to chose the one that actually runs ??
What options tell me that this one is not just 250 LB of scrap ?
Swapping the engine is a big job, shipping is expensive, those engines are very old. How not to make a mistake ???
PLEASE - any advise is WELSOME !

Default Question about FUEL INJECTORS for 2000-02 SL1

My 2000 SL1 uses older (1996-2001) style fuel injectors.

Fuel injectors for 2002 SL1 and some 2001 SL1 look DIFFERENT (see attached Pic)

Anybody knows if it is OK to use newer (2002-style) injectors in older (2000 SL1) ??
Will PCM be able to calculate proper injection pulse width for newer style injectors ?????

Has anyone succesfuly used 2002 SL1 engine in 2000 SL1 car ??

PLEASE help with advise. We already wasted 2 month with TAGORE scams !

Professional wrecking yards are big businesses. I just purchased a Ford Escape 3.0 v6 for one of my companies vehicles. I purchased it from a local chain of wrecking yards. I had a vendor install it since the powertrain comes out the bottom and we do not have a compatible vehicle lift. We work on larger trucks. I located the engine, the yard listed many with mileage and condition rating of A. I requested my vendor to tune, replace belts and cooling parts and I have a viable vehicle back in my fleet. You can visit the yard and ask to see the engines before you purchase. The engines should be inside and on racking, tagged with the vehicle inventory #, also should list oil pressure, compression and mileage. Resale of parts is the reason these businesses are in business. It looks like you bought a core on line. The cores go in the crusher or to core buyers.

Since there are lots of Saturn S engines listed in your area shows that the cars die from another reason than bad engines. Probably rust in your part of the country. You probably will have trouble finding a non rusty frame, but engines are available.

I was going to suggest row52 dot com. Run by a steel company. Sadly, Saturns are getting hard to find in this company's junkyards. In fact, as of the date of this post, I might have to drive from Louisville, KY, to, say, Chicago or Saint Louis or even further to find a single identical donor car. I think their junkyard here in Louisville, near the airport and the airplane hangar at the UPS World HQ, has closed and the land is being redeveloped (I hope it won't become ANOTHER liquor store or buy-here, pay-here car lot, heaven knows Louisville has enough of those).

Have you checked the Pull A Part yard in Indianapolis? They show this SC. It's a 2001. https://www.pullapart.com/inventory/...onID=0#results
