Default water injection manifold 2000 SL2 ??

While somebody else was driving it my 2000 Saturn SL-2 shot a ton of coolant out of top under the hood. Fortunately it was in front of my girlfriend's house so it got shut down right away and probably did not hurt the engine. An acquaintance of mine who is a fair shade tree mechanic said that a plastic (metal before this model year) part called a "water injection manifold" which hides kind of below the power break booster and under the air intake piping had failed spectacularly. He said a 3" crack is visible in it, at least when it is hot. He also said a replacement part could be hard to find and expensive. I can not find any information on this part, EXACTLY what it is called, where I might find one, etc. My regular mechanic is having a hard time finding a reference to it. I don't want to scrap the car but it clearly isn't operable in its current condition. THANKS. bob

Looks like this is the common failure on the gen 3 S series intake manifolds. There are several videos and articles on the internet.

Kind of like Volkswagen making cooling system parts out of plastic.
