I have a 1993 SL1 and the blinkers and hazards are not working. I checked the blinker relay in the fuse panel and there is no power to the HOT lead even when one is turned on. All the lights work just not blinkers or hazards.

Have you checked the HAZARD fuse (10amp) located in the under hood junction block (UHJB) ??

Or the brown 7.5amp turn signal fuse on the interior fuse panel? Or the flasher relay also on the interior fuse panel?

all fuses are ok and when i remove the blinker relay to check for a hot lead...there is none. if if i turn the blinkers on, there is no power running to any of the terminals that the relay plugs into.

Sounds like the HAZARD switch itself has failed, or the connector to it has come loose ...

Well, on my 93 (SW2), the Hazard switch is a rocker switch, located on the top side of the steering column. If you look closely, you can probably see the double triangle imprinted on the switch.

I didn''t think you were speaking of the actual switch to turn it on. I thought you were speaking of another relay or switch somewhere inside the internal workings of the wiring. I know where the switch is and how to turn it on. That wouldn''t control the blinker too...I''ve had many cars where if the blinkers went out for a blown fuse etc. the hazards would still work.

I cannot speak for other cars, but the configuration of the HAZARD switch is such that power for the turn signals route through it in the OFF state to trigger the blinker module. If you are not seeing voltage at the blinker module, then either the switch is bad, or the connector has come loose ...
