Recently
we had a near flood here in Holland and I had to drive my 1994 SL2 home
in the rain. The car was half way under water most of the time and I
ended up using the sidewalk. So the next day when I started the car it
had an extra almost whining noise. My dad said that something got wet
that wasn''''t supposed to but other than that he had no idea. So I was
wondering if anyone knew what may be causing this and what i may need to
replace.</span></font>

Is it a low hum kinda whine or a higher pitch noise.

Low hum that tracks with RPMs might be your alternator which certainly is not designed to be submerged....

Though if your alternator was the source, I''d expect charging system issues to arise as well.....

its a higher pitched sound, my grandma had one similar to this and my uncle replaced her carburetor and it fixed the sound, maybe the problem is somewhere in there.
