Yeah, I replaced the lower sensor. I haven't chaged the connector because I have no idea where the closest dealer is to get one.....I live in nowhere Southeast Kansas. Do the codes clear automatically? These codes I gave could have been in there for quite some time. The SES light only comes on every so often for a very short period of time. Thanks again.

They should clear automatically... To check, you should go to your nearest AutoZone (or equivilant store) and use there OBD reader. That will let you manually clear all your codes and then you will be able to see if they come back.

Replace connector as well (Saturn only part---$10 -- just do it)

Ducky -- I would NEVER forget to mention the connector -- it was in my original post! Shame on you for not noticing.

Although the SES may go out, the I beleive the ODB I codes are retained
until cleared. Autozone may not have an ODB I scanner tool, so you may
not be able to clear the codes there......

I deserved that!? Maybe I can make it up to everyone by suggesting pulling the batteryground cable and pressing the brake pedal to erase the SES code stored in memory? The radio presets will be lost though. That's the best I can offer not being totallyfamiliar with the S-series.

Oh that's right... That's OBD I... One of my old cars had that and it was such a pain in the *** to find a place that had a reader that I ended up buying one myself. The 200 bucks sounded like a good idea until I sold the car a couple months later. </span>

Great new everyone. The problem was most definitely the timing chain. Replaced it this past weekend and all is well. The chain was so loose that it had skipped a couple teeth......it was probably about an 1/8 of a turn out of time (cam sprocket at about 1:30 when the Crank sprocket at TDC). Anyway, I appreciate all of the help. I did change the ETCS and it obviously needed it because I looked at the old one yesterday and it was cracked.

Hey ducky or derf:

Any chance that the timing chain could be a cuase for me rough acceleration? It's bad enough that it will even knock the cruise control off when I go to accelerate by using the button on the steering wheel...

97 SC2 with 134k miles on it...

But I was looking at it last night and I noticed that my passenger side motor mount is thrashed... I'm thinking I found my problem...
