The speedo got stuck @ 15MPH on my 1995 SL2 it has a 5 speed and has 127,000 miles Is this a common problem with this car? What could be the problem?

Perhaps, if you shifted out of 1st gear, the speedometer would go higher ?? (LOL)


Seriously though, a sticking speedo is not a normal complaint here on the forum. Before you tear the dash apart, look carefully at the face of the meter - see any foreign material lodged around the pointer? Has something happened (recently?) to the car that might have caused the pointer to become loose or bent where it is rubbing (dragging) on the meter face? Need more information/observation from you .....
