Default Somebody Please Help!

So, I have 99 Saturn SL2 that I just had a rebuilt engine put in. I drove a brand new rental for 4 months during this process, so when I got my saturn back, I decided it needed some jazzing up. I purchased a stereo and 2 alpine speakers ( I can only afford to do the front right now). My question is, how exactly do I attach the alpines to the previous speaker wire? I removed the door panel, and the old speaker...by beating it with a flathead screwdriver. The adapter piece is still connected to the wires, but would it be easier to just cut the wires and attach them to the new speakers? and how do I do this? sorry, I'm 100% new at even attempting this, would be super grateful for help!

Erika87 --

Nearly all after-market stereo systems have adapter connector harnesses that connect from the original OEM wires, to the new radio and speakers. No cutting required

If not..... I would solder wires to speakers.

Just go with Crutchfield. That way, if you run into problems, you can just call their tech line. They're very helpful.

I went ahead and ordered them. Thank you! I was wondering, as i have so many saturn questions...wouldnt it look better if the speakers were visible instead of being behind the door panel? I mean, they came with grills. Has anyone ever cut out the plastic speaker grill in the door and installed their speakers this way? It would definitely spiff up the inside of the car!

You can do it anyway you like. In order to remove the entire door panel, you have to remove the outer door skin. Youtube is a great place to find out how to do this. It's not that difficult to find what you need there, as long as it's fairly simple to do.
