No carbs </span>in Saturn S cars. Seriously.

Fuel injection.

Either throttle body injection (TBI) --- single injector (on SOHC)-- or multiport fuel injection (MFI) -- one injector per cyl. (DOHC)

These cars can be turboed but the lack of aftermarket support hampers efforts.

lol no point in buying an aftermarket kit if you have a good welder and the know how! unfortunatly i don't know how strong these cars are... my ex had a 96 sl and that engine blew after about a year of driving it and that had a whole lot less miles. this one seems to be driving fine with exception of some trans quirks but i don't know it it'll be up to the beating of a turbo with 179k miles. if i can change her mind on the turbo i'll post pictures after its installed.

Derf, someone must have changed it on me then, because i know I havea carb. I had to take the cover off of it and spray in some carb cleaner. The dealer told me not to use injector cleaner because it's not a fuel injection, it's a carb.

MCapone,

???

It is a throttle body. Has a single injector sticking out of the top of it, mounted vertically into the TB assembly.

The conspicuous lack of the standard myriad of vacuum lines is also a dead giveaway.

Toyo,

Most folks who turbo either make their own manifold or seek out someone who makes their own (usually as a side business). Depending on how much boost you want to run, the engine internals may require beefing up.

As for the tranny, I think most people get the diff pin welded.

You might want to check out www.TuboSaturns.net -- the site is dedicated to turbo-ing saturns......

thanks for the info! as far as the manifold goes... thats not as big of a deal as i would like to have believed. it just times to thinking and welding... i think this car would probly have to be a rear mounted turbo to make it easy to work on instead of shoe horning all the piping and turbo into the engine compartment. besides it woudln't be as heat soaked. and i wasn't thinking a lot of boost. maybe 6lbs.

I love the link... Not necessarily for the carb part... But I now have stuff to look at for my car while I'm at work... Thank you!</span>
