Default Shift linkage blues..99 SW2

Coming home on the freeway this afternoon, shifted from 3rd to 4th, or rather tried to shift from 3 to 4...all of a sudden just air on the other end of the stick shift....

Hmmmm ... an air-shifter, you say? Sounds like a trip to the U-Pull-It yards is in your future.......

I believe you...big job to replace them? I'm not mechanically inclined, had the car towed to a very reputable shop nearby...I've put 35 thousand on it since I bought it last year, with basic maintenance and a set of tires being the only costs other than gas....I figure I'm stil 'WAY ahead of the game....
