i had to put a new ignition housing and awitch in a 2001 sl2 and i have to relearn the anti theft. because it will start then die and the secuity light keeps flaching. does any one know how to relearn the system orhad the same problem.

i found out that it is the passlock causing the problem how do i reset it

According to the service manuals, you replacing the ignition housing or switch shouldnt require a Passlock Relearn. Did you plug in the passlock sensor?

yes but i found a procedure that worked it took about 30 mins but it worked here it is just if some one may need it it was posted for a 2000 ls but it worked on my customers 2001 sl2


Passlock learn procedure


<BR itxtvisited="1">Tech Tips: Perform the Passlock learn procedure as follows:<BR itxtvisited="1">1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.<BR itxtvisited="1">2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON. The vehicle will not start.<BR itxtvisited="1">3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.<BR itxtvisited="1">4. Turn OFF the ignition and wait 5 seconds.<BR itxtvisited="1">5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes.<BR itxtvisited="1">6. The fourth time the engine is cranked, it should start and run.
