Default Saturn SL2 Hesitates at speeds above 35mph

I own a 1992 Saturn SL2. This morning it started hesitating while driving at speeds above 35mph. I noticed on the highway that eventhough the speed of the car was changing dramatically the speedometer was jumping up and down over a 10mph range. While this was happening you can feel the car hesitate. Is this a fuel issue or something more serious? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Sounds like it could be your output speed sensor. Depending on how many miles you have on the car, it could also be that your cat con is getting clogged. Keep in mind, that I don't claim to be a mechanic. I just go by 40+ years of experience of working on my own vehicles.

I had a similar problem like that a number of years ago and the people here on the board said to replace the EGR valve on the right side of the engine.

I did and it stoped pulsing while I drive.
