Default Rear brakelight cover

2000 SL2

I just replaced a breaklight, one of the 6 or so small ones above the back seat... Now the cover will not clip back in fully. It has left a crack so now whenever I beak it throws light into the cabin.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know a way to fix it or the name of it so I can try to order a new one?

Sounds to me like you don't have the cover installed properly. I've never had an issue with any of the vehicles I've owned having this problem. And I've owned a lot of them over the years with the third stop light. Check it and make sure you've got it back in place and all of the clips or retaining tabs are there.

Yup -- either a missing or damaged retaining clip/tab. If the cover is the part that's damaged, you may have to go looking through the local U-pull-it yards for a replacement

Yup, I'm going to say the last thing you fixed you didn't fix correctly, or you broke something. Guess you'll have to go and look to see what you have done. We can't see from here.
