I am trying to pull off my timing cover off of my 2001 SC1 Saturn. I have taken all of the bolts out and pulled off the harmonic balancer and still can not pull off the timing cover. The key is still stuck in the keyway can this be the problem?

That could be one problem. The other problem could be the oil pan. I'm not sure on your car but GM has at times, placed a lip on the bottom of the cover that goes under the lip of the oil pan. Requiring you to remove the oil pan to get the cover off.
