I have a 1995 SL1 SOC. My <STRONG itxtvisited="1">antifreeze[/b] <B itxtvisited="1">reservoir is full of oil. The car has not ever over heated and the oil is low but no water on the dipstick and no large amount of smoke comeing out of the [/B]<B itxtvisited="1">exhaust. The waterpump has been makeing a winding sound and I wounder if the waterpump could have anything do do with it or is the head just cracked or could it be a bad head gasket ?[/B]

The SOHC''s are known to have the heads crack.

I would suspect the noise coming from the waterpump is a separate issuefrom the more concerning problem of water in the antifreeze.


Unfortunately, Mike (LowSaturn) is totally correct about the older SOHC engines, and their susecptability to cracking heads (for whatever reason). Good luck with the repairs ....
