Default No spark

My 97 Saturn stalled out initially it restarted after 5 minutes. I drove it home but the next morning it wouldn't start and hasn't since. My plugs and wires are okay but there is no spark. Replaced the crank shaft positioning sensor and spark plate, and the coils are good. My timing chains fine. My mechanic believes it is a bad pcm but isn't sure and recommended the dealership. I hear a bad pcm is uncommon. I live far from a dealership and I really want to avoid the giant tow bill...I'd appreciate suggestions.

Did you check spark on all plugs?
Did you replace with new CPS or used one? Check to be sure replacement one is in spec....
Did you trace elec connection from CPS back to PCM?
How'd you check coils and plug wires?

And what's a spark plate?

(Just tryin to be thorough...)
