Well,no luck cleaning the battery contacts, although the lock button did cause the horn to beep once, and then nothing..Oh well,I guess I try the dealer route next..

Default Reprogrammed the FOB but still not working..

Okay,I had the fob reprogrammed, and they even cleaned the button contacts, but I am still no better off.It has a very short range, and you have to hold the button down for what seems forever. The only thing I can think of is that the lithium battery I replaced might be defective.I got a blister pack of them at the checkout counter of a hardware store here. They were made in China, and there is no use before date on the packaging.

Well, this is embarrassing-I got a fresh battery today at The Source (Radio Shack's name in Canada),and the remote works as good as new!

Okay,a couple of days after I put the new battery in,the problem returned.I followed my mechanic's suggestion, and went shopping for a new fob on Ebay.I managed to find a used one for $4.99 ($7.99 shipping),and programmed it myself with the help of a post on the board. It's been three days, and it is still working great... Wish me luck!

I got the fob from this seller on Ebay: duniek( 94)
His direct email is : wgaraszczuk4091@rogers.com
The auction page is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123
Maybe he has a fob you could use. Make sure the manufacturer's number on the back of the fob matches yours. Good luck!
