Hydrocarbon refrigerants to replace 134a in a/c of your 1996-2002 S-series Saturn?
Has anyone replaced their 134a refrigerant with a hydrocarbon refrigerant (ie: Duracool 12a, Emzone 12a, RED TEK 12a, FrostyCool 12a, Enviro‑Safe 134a Replacement, etc) in a 1996-2002 S-Series Saturn, and if so, how well did it work?
I ask because although I have very successfully used a hydrocarbon refrigerant in a car that used a FIXED DISPLACEMENT PISTON COMPRESSOR (was NOT a Saturn), the 1996-2002 Saturns use a VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT VANE COMPRESSOR, and I am wondering if the different pressures that the hydrocarbon refrigerants run at will cause the variable displacement mechanism to function differently enough as to not cool properly, so any experience you have had with this would be good to hear.
BTW, I am not looking for opinions on the safety of hydrocarbon refrigerants, but just if anyone has experienced if they cool effectively with the variable displacement vane compressor in a Saturn.
Thanks
