Granted my car 96 sl1wasn't running completely perfect but it was better my light was on but not flashing and the car wasn't vibrating, and jumping so bad, & taking forever to build up speed then all the sudden taking off. I broke thevacume hose that attaches to the vacume harness along with another hose to the top of the motor. I took it to the garage they removed thestuck broken piece out reconnected the hose and sealed it with proxy. I assumed once thevacume hosewas fixed the car would return to normal but that is not the case. I changed the spark plugs & wires, both coil packs, cleaned the egr valve replaced coolant temp sensor & i don't know whatelse to do. If anyone has any suggestions my husband isn't too auto inclinedso most of this is done by me .

If you have a FLASHING CEL you better STOP driving it - it is usually indicative of a MAJOR misfire. If you continue to drive - you will cause damage to your CAT and possibly other items. You said you did wires, better CHECK and RECHECK the firing order, even if you did them one at at time... Make sure they are in the right order.

my light wasn't flashing till the vacume hose broke, once that happened they said the motor wasn't getting the correct mixture of fumes, so instead of ordering the harness and new hose they removed the broke piece and plugged the hose back in and sealed it with proxy. i think the whole part needs to be replaced and not tried to be sealed back together cause the lights still flashing, car vibrates like no tomorrow. I'm going to have the codes read tonight so i will post them when done
