Where did you get the sensor? If it's not from a GM dealership, then that's most likely the reason. Aftermarket sensors don't seem to work well on the Saturns.

Default Runs hotter

U are right I got the sensor from auto zone how is it different from the dealer. I did call A dealer to see if there's was different or like the original but they were unable to say. I also have read on this site that the various models run at different temps but as this is the only deviation from the 1/4 mark it seems unlikely that it should run hotter now right? How can the sensor make it run hotter it reads the temp it dose not regulate it. Have u herd of this happening before?

Thank u for Ur help

Not really sure, but the value of an after-market sensor may have a different resistance curve. It won't cause your car to run hotter, but the gauge may report a bogus level

+1 likely different resistance/temp curve
the car is not running hotter.

The word is. "does"

The temp does not change. The proper etcs or the one from GM is calibrated correctly so the reading on the temp gauge shows as GM intended.

Again the cooling fan should not turn on till you get to about the 3/4 mark A/C off. Fan should be on at ALL times with A/C on. Thats if the damn fan is working in the first place, and you have no idea if it works or not.

Run a couple of jumper wires from the battery to the fan and make sure it works. If not, then you probably need to replace it. If it does, perhaps the fan relay is not working.
