Emergency brake light
On my 92' SL1 the e-brake light on the dash comes on even when the e-brake is totally released. It doesn't do it all the time.... just mostly during hard acceleration.
All the brakes on the car are less than a year old. Is there a switch inside the center console that lets the car know the e-brake is engaged? Before i started tearing things apart to find the problem i figure i'd ask you guys for any remedies to the problem.
thanks

S-turn,
Please note that the light may be coming on if the brake fluid level in the master cylinder is low. You may be accelerating sufficiently to shift the fluid to "uncover" the "low brake fluid" sensor in your master cylinder. I'd check that first.
It's possible that whoever did your brakes siphoned off some fluid from the master cylinder when the brakes were done to make room for the new pads -- then forgot to put it back in. Or it could be that you are hard on your brakes and the level has dropped as the pads wear. Or there could be a leak at the master cylinder or at a caliper, or somewhere in between......I'd investigate this avenue first.....

There is indeed an e brake light switch located near the base of the handle of the ebrake lever. I've never messed with mine, but I think you should be able to remove the screw in the pas side of the ebrake handle cover, slide the cover off, and have access to the base of the ebrake handle to investigate the switch.
