DOHC cams out of spec
I really need to work on making a clear case. Sorry for the confusion...
> Car overheated, cracked head. Purchased rebuilt head, came with set of cams { the worn cams }
> My cams would need work and I don't think they are in any better condition, so I'm returning them for the core. Did consider this tho
> Yeah, the lobe lift and oil clearances seem good. Just the journal sizes are worn down it seems. That's what I gathered...
> And this is the cam I got with the rebuilt head. I can't re-use my own since I'm returning them for core charge. And they don't look much better. That being said, the cams I received are likely from a very high millage vehicle as well. Didn't notice problems with old cams ( cracked head ) so I presume the same will be for these new* cams.
> I received the rebuilt head w/cams installed. I was just worried about installing that in the engine, but I'll go ahead with it and report back if it was a bad move. At least all the engine will be shiny for a while longer.
Ty all

Thank you for clearing that up.
I thought the "new cams"were actually"new" (no clue where you would have found them).
That's why I didn't understand why you would want to run YOUR used cams in the engine until the "new ones" arrived. Trying to figure out how you could get cams separate from the rebuilt head.
But there was only ever one set of high mileage cams available, since yours are getting sent back.
Apologies for driving things off course.
