In the pre-start on position virtually every light should come on.

so would a burnt light on the dash set any codes or cause any other issues. if I could get a accual number of lights to come on and which ones I could get started on replacments.

I think we may be mixing apples and oranges again --

The AUX (or ACC) key position is the counter-clockwise position from the OFF position (where the key goes in or out). Very few lights will illuminate in this position.

The RUN (or ON) key position is the first clockwise position from the OFF position.

Which is the one you are asking about?

okay... i forgot this morning but checked just now...
change oil
SES
service with wrench
seat belt
coolant
oil
batt
temp
security

i think that's all, but they only came on for a second and then went off... of course i am assuming you have the same cluster as is found in a 2000 SL1...
