Crunchy squeak noise and flashing lights (95 SL2)
Hey fellow Saturnites,
I have a 95 SL2 with about 128K miles on it. A couple of weeks ago, my car started making a crunchy noise from the left rear wheel area. This doesn't happen when I'm going at highway speeds, but when I am going slower, it's very noticeable. I'm thinking that it's a shock -- or possibly a strut. Any opinions on this?
The other -- more serious? -- problem I'm currently having is that when I start the car -- either cold or from a start -- the two lights above my temperature gauge start blinking. I had the thermostat in the car replaced about four months ago, and my coolant level appears fine. What's up?
Thanks.

Ummm,
1) which lights would the flashing ones be (pls describe the pics) -- (we can't see your dash from here)
2)don't know if I've ever heard anyone describe a car noise as crunchy -- but there's a first for everything.... is it maybe more groany / scrapy/grindy/thunky/clunky/whirry?
Does it correlate with going over bumps? Only when braking? Only when decelerating but independent of braking?...........
If you can narrow down when it's occurring we'll have a better chance of helping you sort it out
