I have a 97 Saturn SL1 and I have an electrical problem in my AC system. I know the compressor workes and I know the relay, fuse and wiring from the relay box to the compressor is working. but I cannot get the relay to close when I press AC button. Does anyone know where I can find an electrical schematicfor it? Preferably for free

I had a mechanic put in a compressor recently on my Saturn and it was working, but it wouldn’t engage with the button pushed inside the car. So he showed me that it wasn’t working, but he hardwired it from the compressor to a toggle switch in the car, and now it works because I didn’t have two or $300 for him to diagnose why the button wasn’t working I still don’t know why.

15 yr old post?

Did he also wire the cooling fans behind the radiator to turn on whenever the AC is switched on?

If not, your vehicle will likely overheat if the AC is on but the car is not moving for a while while running, like in a traffic jam. The cooling fans will come on when the coolant temperature gets too hot, but it will be heating so fast, the fans will not be able to cool it off fast enough.

That is why the factory design it's for them to come on anytime the AC compressor is engaged.
