98 Saturn wants to start and run one day the next day it won't
I've had the car for 2 months. It's starts hard ever since I've had it, but always drove fine. Then last week it started Ok one morning then I parked it for a few hours and then I started it and backed out and i put it in drive and as soon as I hit the gas pedal it starts dying. It spit and putted about 200 feet and died. After that it wouldn't start. The next morning I put Starter fluid in the throttle body and it started and it ran like crap for about a mile then it seemed to start running fine. Until the next day
Sounds to me like you have a bad fuel pump. BUT, I'm not a mechanic and since you don't tell us what model and if it's a SOHC or DOHC engine, you're pretty much just shooting blanks asking questions. Tell us more about the car other than just the year.
Codes?
When was the last time you changed the plugs and what plugs are in there?
Partial flooding at start, or equivalent behavior caused by too rich a fuel / air mixture?
That richness may be the result of an ECTS/connector / witing issue. This is easily checked with the engine cold by hooking up a full-fledged scanner that can read real-time data and simply reading the ECTS temperature. It will either be plausible or completely off in the negative direction.
