describe symptoms when it won't start (after running for a while). Does it crank but not start? Does it not crank?

Does it have spark when it won't start (Assuming it's cranking)?

While it's slightly expensive and time consuming, it sounds like the starter is bad.

My opinion only ............

Do they mean the starter as a whole (solenoid and starter) or starter itself. If its the first then there might be something in between such as bad wiring or maybe a relay. If its the latter your solenoid is most likely gone and you need a whole new starter all together.

I had the same problem recently where I would drive it abit and then it wouldnt start afterwards, After I replaced my battery (which was bad to the point it was leaking) and it wouldnt do it for a few weeks, then it started doing it again worse than before. Only I didnt have the ability to bump start. It was the starter though.

Well, since you got the starter off the car right now, throw it in an oven, and raise the temperature to about two hundred, then test it again. Heat appears to be the catalyst for your problem. (Maybe they got an oven at the place that tested your starter for you) ....
