Default 97 sl2 5 speed ... hard down shifts

ok so i was drivin on a back road hit a big pot hole spilled my drink... looked down quickly and looked back up just in time to see that i was going into a mud swamp.... burried my front end ... but after a half hour of trying to get out i got out....

problem is now that i cant downshift ... it is really hard and the clutch stutters when i can ....

is there a trans filter???
can i take the dust pan off and hose it out???
please help before i go to work tomorrow ...

im afraid that im loosing another transmission and need to figure this out before it does go

I would suspect that your linkage is probably clogged with mud and other ****. Pop the hood and take your garden hose and clean it off as best as you can. Then try shifting it and post back.

You may have to hose out the flywheel area. It could be clogged as well. Probably got all kinds of mud and stuff in the clutch area. If you do that, make sure you do it at home and drive it around your yard to make sure your clutch gets dried out from the friction. I wouldn't drive it in traffic until I was sure.
