Not sure of the name but there is a pulley that is mounted to the head. You may loosen your belt and see if is worn out. Think it may be the idler pulley, maybe

I believe you are referring to the tensioner pully that keep the serpentine belt tight. The bearing can fail, and it'll make a gosh-awful noise. While you're at it, check the serpentine belt as well. If you see wear and/or dry rot, replace it too ....

na, the tensioner pulley sets back and below. It is the idler pulley. It is stationary and non-adjustable.

Let's see,

I have an 95 Saturn SL1 vin code 8 (SOHC)
What I see and what AllData list for that model is 7 pullies

I have the following :

Crank pulley (at bottom), alternator, power steering, belt tensioner, idler pulley, A/C compressor and water pump

the top center pulley is the idler pulley.

Here is a sugestion...............
Get a long,( really long) screwdriver, or wooden dowel, touch it to a part you think is too noisey and then to your ear lobe and the noise will be transfered to your ear. keep searching till you "find"/ "hear " the noisey part.
They accually sell a steth-a-scopes for mechanics you can buy too !
