93 Saturn SL2 continues the warning beep, when I open the door, even though the keys are out of the ignition and the lights are off. Just started a couple of days ago, and consistently does it all the time. Curious if anyone has an idea where I can start looking...perhaps it's a fuse or something with the ignition. Thanks

 

The sensor inside the key switch assembly that triggers when the key is still in the lock is broken

 

sometimes it just gets jammed up in the position that it would be in if the key was there -- if you jiggle the key in the ignition you may be able to get it back the way it should be.

Or, like OA said, it's broke and will chime forever. I think there is some other important/useful stuff that shares the chime fuse, so check the owner's manual before you just go and pull it....

 

I have the same issue, but its been going on for over a year.
