The only two ways to find a leak that I'm aware of is to use a dye with a black light or take it to a shop that has a "sniffer" to detect leaks.

A.C leak

Fan

So fan now comes on when AC does (as designed--prob should have added that the two are linked w/r/t AC operation).

But does the fan come on at approp coolant temp (past 3rd tick on temp gauge)?

I just re read your orig post and it's not clear whether this (vital) functionality was an issue.

Just trying to help and make sure you don't overheat when A/C's not running......

i dont know about when the A/C is off. i will have to check that.

lets just say that it does not kick on when it hits the third tick...what would that mean?

That would say that the ECTS is not controlling the fan relay via the PCM.....

most probable cause is an open circuit (although a defective PCM is a remote possibility)

a bad connection between the ECTS sensor and it's wiring harness is usually the cause - replace the connector.

actually sometimes the temp gauge will approach the red before it kicks on.
This is seemingly by design (although frightening to some saturn owners.
Just let it idle in your driveway, watch the temp gauge rise, and, with the hood up, verify the fan kicks on

if it doesn't your car will overheat....but at least it'll be in the driveway
